Revealing SplitSec AI — A Privacy-First Gunshot Detection App

We are excited to announce the launch of the SplitSec AI limited Android Beta, an important milestone in our journey to make real-time, privacy-first gunshot detection accessible to communities everywhere.
This beta marks the first opportunity for external users to experience SplitSec AI on their own devices and to help shape how the platform evolves ahead of a broader public release.
Why a Limited Beta
SplitSec AI addresses a high-stakes problem where accuracy, reliability, and trust matter deeply. A limited beta allows us to move thoughtfully and responsibly by validating performance in real-world environments while listening closely to early users.
The goals of this beta are to:

What Makes This Beta Different
SplitSec AI runs entirely on-device using a compact, patent-pending edge AI model trained on more than 30,000 real-world sounds. During the beta:

No audio is recorded or stored externally

Sound analysis runs on your device. Raw audio is never transmitted to SplitSec. For information about account data, event information, location processing, and optional signature sharing, please see our current Privacy Policy.

No additional sensors or infrastructure are required
Sound analysis happens on your phone. Connected corroboration and alert delivery require connectivity. Raw audio is never transmitted to SplitSec.
When multiple phones running SplitSec AI are active in the same area, the system can identify patterns that support situational awareness and, in future phases, estimates of the possible sound source’s location, subject to available data and uncertainty. This beta helps us responsibly test those foundations.

How Access Works
The limited beta is available on Android through an official distribution channel on the Google Play Store. Access is granted through a request and opt-in process to ensure we can support participants and learn effectively during this phase.
Spots are intentionally limited and will be expanded gradually.
